Try Hypnosis As Part Of Your Therapy
Hypnotherapy is a method of communication between you and the therapist that uses a trance or a trance-like state to help you reach thoughts, feelings and memories that have been repressed, forgotten or previously unconscious to you. I only use it as an adjunct to the talk therapy we’d be doing.
No, You Won’t Sing Or Dance Like Elvis
There are many misconceptions of what hypnosis is and does. So, let me tell you straight out, if you choose to use hypnosis as a tool to help you in your therapy… your mind will not be controlled by the therapist nor will you ever do something you’d be uncomfortable with.
You Probably Use Trance Everyday Without Knowing It
You have many, many times without calling it hypnosis. It’s a naturally occurring state in which one’s attention is narrowly focused and relatively free of distractions. Examples I use to describe trance states include driving your car to work, but not remembering the details of the drive, or your daydream of making that winning putt or visualizing a special, peaceful place to go to in your mind.
You can learn self-hypnosis techniques to use anywhere, any time.
